That is body weight divided by body height on square. Normal body weight is in the area of body weight index between 19,5 and 25, increasing body weight is between 25 and 30 and fatness is over 30. Body of healthy woman should not contain more than 30% (and not less than 20%) of fat and in the body of healthy man should fat represent 15-20% share of the whole body. Overweight people, especially men, are carrying most of their extra weight in their stomach. That’s why their abdominal muscles are becoming weaker in they are having big troubles supporting the spine, which is a lot more vulnerable without strong muscle support. Abdominal muscles also support spine at hard work, like lifting or carrying burden around. When abdominal muscles are tensed, the pressure in abdominal hollow increases and spine it’s relived of its burden. Harmful impacts of overweight body:
Weaker and thinner muscles and lack of body activity lead to reduced usage of calories. That even increases positive food calories effect and causes bigger amount of fat in body. Overweight people are facing early with degenerative changes on their joints and spine. Most distinctive changes are on those joints which are wearing biggest weight. These are: lower back, knees, ankles and hips. Wear joints and spine cause chronic pain, reduce flexibility and cause early disability. Extreme cases can also lead to operational procedures. Some problems can be avoided with regular and proper body activities. |
